Well written tunes, delivered by incredibly talented and soulful musicians.
Over the last two years Ewan has traveled back and forth between the UK, Canada and Ireland, working with musicians across both sides of the Atlantic and touring extensively to communities across all three countries. In 2015 Ewan recorded his first solo E.P. “You Probably Look Better Naked Anyway”, a mix of genres and styles presented with a Celtic Soul feel. The album reached #3 in the National Folk/ Roots charts of Canada. Having recently finished touring the album material alongside three alternate trios, 2017 will now bring those musicians together to further develop the music. Rooted in the storytelling folk genre, Ewan infuses his music with layers of Swing, Scottish trad, Bluegrass, Jazz Soul, Blues and Pop. Over the course of an evening the band will go from heartfelt ballads, to all out virtuosic improvised malady.
Ewan Macintyre has a long musical pedigree – as lead singer with the award-winning Edinburgh collective Southern Tenant Folk Union he performed the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland at top venues & major festivals including Celtic Connections and in 2011 the band won Americana Artist of the Year. He recorded 2 critically acclaimed albums with the band, receiving stellar reviews from Mojo, Q, The Guardian, Irish Times, Uncut, Irish Mail on Sunday, Hot Press as well as live TV performances on RTE’s ‘The Late Late Show’ & ‘The View’. Ewan has supported a diverse mix of acts ranging from 'Hot House Flowers' to 'Coolio'.
