Join us on May 26th at The Arthouse on Mill for our HARMONY music and colour ... in concert series. Featuring local visual artist Marko Jalava and musical artists Spiderlodge and special guest. Trevor McDonald will emcee the evening and Vita Bella Bistro will provide a cash bar and light snacks for sale.
Marko Jalava, artist and owner of The Arthouse on Mill, creates hauntingly beautiful and thought provoking artwork using acrylic paint. Each of the evenings featured pieces tells a story of inspiration, relating to experiences that many of us face in our everyday lives. He uses his brush strokes, as a writer uses a pen, to transfer his insightful perspective into pieces of art that move the soul, ask us to stop and ponder the everyday, question our truths, and imagine our possibilities.
Spiderlodge is a Chilliwack-based acoustic roots rock trio made up of Fraser Valley Music Award winner Rick Genge, vocalist Lori Paul and percussionist Clay Thornton. Multi-instrumentalist Rick Genge has produced seven albums out of the home studio, he shares with wife Lori Paul, wordsmith and lead vocalist for the band. Clay began his career in rhythm as a tap-dancing toddler at his Grandmother’s academy, the Fleita Tutte School of Dance. Clay and Lori formed their first professional band here in Chilliwack in 1980. Look for the trio’s fourth album in the fall of 2017.
