It was just a few years after his birth (10/7/51) in Seymour, Indiana that John Mellencamp fell in love with music. By the time he was 14, he was gigging in local bars and fronting a soul band. Since then, he has been awarded a Grammy and been nominated a total of 11 times. On March 10, 2008, John was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with Billy Joel doing the honors.
