A singer/songwriter (Andrew Christopher), a Blues/Folk artist (Jamie Rowe) and a Pop/Rocker (Woody) walk into a bar. OK, it was a basement stocked with booze. Then, at a seemingly insignificant moment, Jamie pipes up, “You know what I’ve always thought a great band name would be?” And at that moment, with guitars and beers in hand, “Parliament of Owls” was born.
Woody (Pardon My Striptease, Plans & Disguises, Woodroff Music) brings a strong pop influence to the groups songwriting, and adds a vast knowledge of recording, engineering and producing music at his studio in Chilliwack, BC. Woody’s prowess on guitar and bass is equally matched by his gritty vocal performance.
After fronting Pardon My Striptease (Pray for LJ) for 5+ years Andrew Christopher wrote and recorded his solo album “Gone” which sold over 2,000 copies. He recently did a brief stint with the BC Country Music Association, but is now moving in a different, soul-fulfilling direction with Parliament of Owls.
Unfortunately, for the rest of the world, Jamie Rowe has kept his songwriting to himself for many years up until now. When AC first heard Jamie’s work he couldn’t believe the unharnessed, raw musical talent that was brought before him. Originally from Ontario, Jamie’s love for music is rivaled only by his love for hockey and beer.
Parliament of Owls is a songwriting collective. Each member is actively contributing songs, free of genre restrictions, with a goal of writing and recording as much quality music as possible. These proudly Canadian musicians are hard-working family men ready to conquer another project, and wow another crowd.
