North Carolina’s The Hamiltones have an energy much like brothers from a large Southern gospel family. Although none of the members of the Hamiltones are related, they have a genuine chemistry that is usually associated with such sibling groups. Their style is rooted in gospel singing, but melds together soul, R and B, and even political commentary, always with an element of good humour and good vibes. The Hamiltones became well known to Canadian festival audiences in the summer of 2018 as slide guitar master Ry Cooder’s backing band. They have achieved a quick rise to success online with a series of viral videos and performances on TV, such as the Jimmy Kimmel show.
