Roces’ work is mostly introspective. Narrative vignettes are the core of many of his songs. These songs are personal lessons. Some are like little memories in private snow-globes. Some give breath to the kinds of fears and shortcomings that we often fail to suffocate. Some are little handshakes with the past.
Most often, these songs honour a plurality of human connections — dear friends in need, acquaintances who should have been closer, passing strangers who say what you need to hear, lovers and almost-lovers who made impressions all the same.
